Our Pitch
Do you truly know the people that make up the Severn Community?
We're not talking about your day to day groups, we’re talking about the people beyond them. We don’t know them and not many people do. And that is okay! But we aim to change that. Many of us believe the stereotype around the people of Severn, and have not gotten the opportunity to truly find out who they are for themselves. We all surround ourselves with the same people and the same groups everyday. However, we all know that there is more to Severn than these groups. In our project, we will take the time to discover a general gist of who the people of Severn are and share it with our community. Through interviews of random Severn students and faculty, we will learn their story and their impact on the Severn community, and share that information to the community in a book. This book will contain biographies of a specific person using the information from their interview, along with portraits of these people. We will help you discover who surrounds you in your everyday life, and make you feel more involved in your school community.

THE TEAM
Cameron ChristieCameron has been attending Severn since 4th grade after moving from California. Being new to both the school and the state, she was in need of a new support system and community. She was able to find this at Severn. When Cameron reached high school, she took full advantage of what Severn had to offer her. She participated and thrived as a goalie on the girl’s lacrosse team, was active in clubs including Spirit Captains and Peer Counselors and took a leadership role in creating the school yearbook each year. For her senior year, Cameron is a Severn Prefect, demonstrating her leadership and allowing her to provide a community for the incoming freshmen class. Cameron is also a Severn Diplomat and in the National Honors Society. She will continue her success playing lacrosse at Duke University and hopes to form a community with her team there as she has been able to at Severn.
